INKTOBER was inspired by my lovely art teacher Mrs. Thompson. At first, this project was for the art class that I T.A. for, but it turned out to be one of the best and one of the most art pieces ever done because I've never used Acrylic ink and watercolor ink. I had so much fun exploring this new medium of art and creating INKTOBER in this art form. The current artist that I had in mind was Tim Burton. I interpreted some of his art styles in my art style to make that cute Holloween feel in my art piece. The art style he does is claymation, which makes his art look dark and moody as well as the expression he uses for that Halloween theme. One of his most famous movies is The Nightmare Before Christmas, and this illustrates what kind of art he does. The master artist that inspired me as well as Francisco Goya. Goya's medium of art is acrylic paint. His main theme For most of his work was death, darkness, and despair. I incorporated some of his themes into some of the letters to give it that realistic depressing look. The balance of realism and impressionism is a good mix so you have different things to look at without getting bored. Some things I want to improve on are blending and shading the ink as well to experiment with what colors blend well to get the best result in the art piece. I would also like to practice linework with paintbrushes so I can get used to the feeling of using a paintbrush.

Calvin Arsenia

Calvin Arsenia is a musical artist that flourishes when he plays his harp while he sings like an angel. He told us the reason why he loves roses is that they mean love to him, the roses that he has received in his life were given to people who love him dearly and he wanted to show that to everyone. When Calvin Arsenia played I envisioned different colored roses behind him to show how colorful his personality is and how he is beautiful in every aspect you could think of. He radiates passion and love and I wanted to show that in my piece. The medium of art I used was a mix of two mediums of art which are color pencil the go over that with the same color pen to make the color pop. I used line work, color, realism, texture, and shape. The master artist that was one of the inspirations for this piece is Jan Van Eyck, he focuses on realism and uses oil paints to create his masterful artworks. The other inspiration for my current artist would be Mo Zhan, she specializes in landscape, portrait, along with floral art, she uses oil painting as well. Her realistic floral art helped me understand the line work for flowers and where the lining and color along with shading goes. Some things that I would like to focus on to improve on realistic art would be blending to make the skin look realistic instead of patchy along with knowing what color pencils blend well together and what doesn't blend well cause I want to get better at blending dark colors so it can look as smooth as the other flowers.

Jan Van Eyck

Jan van Eyck was a painter active in Bruges who was one of the early innovators of what became known as Early Netherlandish painting, and one of the most significant representatives of Early Northern Renaissance art. His use of oil paints in his detailed panel paintings, typical of the Netherlandish style, resulted in him being known as the father of oil painting. The materials he used were tin moulds, Jan Van Eyck made gilded and painted reliefs which he then attached to the painting. Not only did he paint all the fabrics in a realistic manner, he also depicted the seams on the characters' clothing.
